Academic Grants
Education in oral health is an important focus of the Chicago Dental Society’s mission. As such, CDS currently provides academic grant funding for undergraduate students at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry and Southern Illinois School of Dental medicine. Academic grants are strictly dependent upon the availability of funds and subject to CDS Board of Directors approval. CDS will award individual grant recipients a minimum of $300. Individual grants will be provided to students who meet the following criteria:
- Must be a full-time student
- Must be in good academic standing
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident ( “green card” holder)
- Grants will be offered to sophomore, junior and senior dental students
Additional requirements
Students must participate at the CDS Midwinter Meeting in a capacity designated by the Chicago Dental Society for at least one full day, or two half-day sessions and have their participation verified by a CDS representative.
Grants will be awarded at a venue determined by the CDS Board of Directors.
The deadline for submitting the application to the Chicago Dental Society office is November 1, 2010.
